What win rate do I need to be profitable in trading?

It depends on your risk-reward ratio, not win rate alone. With a 1:2 risk-reward you can be profitable with a win rate well below 50%, while a 1:1 setup needs more than 50% wins plus fees. Profitability comes from positive expectancy, not a high win rate by itself.

How do fees and leverage affect my results?

Fees are charged on every trade and compound against you, so a strategy with a small edge can turn negative once realistic maker/taker fees are included. Leverage scales both profits and losses proportionally and increases the risk of liquidation; it does not change your underlying win rate or expectancy.

What is a Monte-Carlo trade simulation?

A Monte-Carlo simulation runs many randomized sequences of wins and losses with the same probabilities to show the range of outcomes you might experience, including drawdowns and lucky or unlucky streaks — not just a single idealized curve.

Is a higher win rate always better?

No. What matters is expectancy: (win rate × average win) − (loss rate × average loss). A 40% win rate with large winners can outperform a 70% win rate with small winners and large losers.
